We’ve been here several times before… but the contract for dot-xxx has today been posted by ICANN for public comment.

As you can see from the number of files linked to on the announcement webpage, we have been working hard with ICANN’s staff to provide a full rundown of how we will run dot-xxx, including: how our sponsoring organisation, IFFOR, will be structured; our compliance systems; our registration systems; our policy systems; our corporate structure; and, of course, the registry contract we will sign with ICANN for the dot-xxx top-level domain.

It’s a lot of information but we wanted to be thorough and transparent so people know exactly what ICM is offering and how dot-xxx will be run. If you have useful feedback, please don’t be discouraged by the inevitable flood of off-topic comments that have been a feature of previous comment periods. The comment period will be open until 23 September 2010.

You can provide your input by emailing xxx-revised-icm-agreement@icann.org, and you can see all comments here.

Domains Pre-Reserved

We’re ramping up for the introduction of dot-xxx domains and have been looking for add agencies to help made .XXX a big brand, benefiting both us and dot-xxx registrants.

Our approach to a number of big outfits asking them to pitch has hit the advertising industry’s trade mag Campaign today, we see. It’s only a short article but we’re excited to see early interest.

We are pleased to announce that ICM Registry is a Silver sponsor of the upcoming ICANN meeting in Cartagena in December.

Since the decision by the ICANN Board at the Brussels meeting that ICM Registry had met the relevant criteria for .XXX, we have been working with ICANN through a due diligence process and contract negotiations.

We are on the Board agenda this week and are feeling confident that we could see some real steps forward soon. And this – we hope – will finally lead to .XXX being approved and signed before the Cartagena meeting.

If that happens, you can expect one hell of a party. So see you there!
